National Park Elopement Photographer | Tunnel View Yosemite National Park
Lyana and Clay reached out to me wanting to plan their elopement in Yosemite after realizing the complexities of a larger wedding just wasn't for them. I spoke over the phone with L&C, and after hearing their story and plans to road trip from Florida to California to get married alongside a few of their closest friends at sunrise in the park, I explained exactly how we could bring their dream wedding to life. We chatted for almost an hour over the phone, and I explained their options for eloping in the park and walked them through the process.
When couples reach out to me, they are often at the beginning of their planning stage for their elopement or wedding. They set out in search of a photographer to capture their special day, and with luck, they find my team and I. Not only is it our job to help document your wedding day and tell your story in photograph form, but we also act as day-of coordinators helping create timelines, find the best locations, and most of all, take the stress out of planning.
With their upcoming elopement quickly approaching, the two decided to road trip from Florida out to California. They even managed to drive from Florida to Arizona in a day because they were filled with adrenaline for their session. After a few days on the road with close friends, I met them all for the first time in the parking lot at Tunnel View before the sun had even risen. I could feel the love and excitement from both L&C when I met them.
While hiking to their ceremony location in the dark, I almost stepped right on top of a snake but quickly realized the little guy was there and immediately began to find another direction to get out to the point. After that interaction, I was VERY awake, and although the morning could have gone an entirely different direction, everything went perfect, and there were no other snakes to be seen.
L&C said their "I Do's" just as the sun began to rise in the valley, and we all celebrated by popping some champagne surrounded by their close friends, one of whom ordained themselves and married his friends atop the mountain.
Check out a few memorable moments from Layana and Clay's elopement in Yosemite National Park.
